Flashback Friday

Meet Ben, circa 2000. Since my camera has been sitting on my desk collecting dust for a few weeks, I reached into the archives and found this little gem. Funny thing is, this picture was taken with our first-ever digital camera which was like a 1-point-nothing megapixel Olympus. Pretty good for 10 years ago.

Friday Night Light(ning)

We had a few laughs (and a few snowcones) at a park in Farmington during a summer get-together for Rich's work.

The inflatables were a huge hit with the kids, especially the boxing ring.

We did get a little cold after the TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR and LIGHTNING/THUNDER, but we owe the blue lips to nothing more than one-too-many snow cones. (I could still see faint traces of the blue-ness on his face at church on Sunday.)

Of course, puddles are the next best thing to inflatables.

And the best part? On the drive home, we had a magnificent rainbow on the east side of the valley the entire way.

Soccer

I've been sitting at the computer a while now, trying in vain to come up with some clever title or cutesy way to post soccer pictures but.....I got nothing. HERE ARE THE SOCCER PICTURES I TOOK LAST WEEKEND IN RANDOM ORDER WITHOUT CUTE OR CLEVER COMMENTS:

Goodbye freedom, hello Freedom!

Um, should somebody tell him that he can't bring lightsabers to kindergarten?
With or without lightsabers, may the force be with you, G-Dawg.

Earlier this week.......

Me: Will you miss me when you go to kindergarten?
Garrett: (with enthusiasm and a proud smile) "No mom, I won't miss you even one tiny bit!!"

And even though he won't miss me and he wasn't nervous or scared or anything other than excited, I will be forever grateful to him that as we stood outside his kindergarten room on that first day, waiting for the bell to ring, he quietly slipped his hand inside mine and held on for a few more minutes. Thanks, G. It's been so fun to hang out with you these past (almost) 6 years.
